So Movie fans. Time for you to get involved more with our movies. WE are holding a competition to be involved with our latest movie. Extinction!!!!!! Basically it is about the future of our world and a dwindling human race. After warring, floods and droughts, the human race has dropped from 7 BILLION to 6 MILLION. With people still warring for food however, and climates becoming better for flesh eating animals, The human race is still declining at a rapid rate. It's basically a survival story and has an element of radical thinking and people over coming diversity.
What I want you to do is to give us any scene to do with this movie idea involving the characters
Jackson: a very serious individual, very commanding and a leader of a tribe
Zed: A servant and not involved often with combat until chased, by his own tribe, into exile.
Please do a good job and post it as a comment on this post. We will pick the best one and then post it on the blog, put it on youtube and use it in our movie.

Half term
So now it's time to all enjoy half term. Yay. Not only is the arrival of half term an amazing excuse to PARTAY, but it is also a whole week to hone your movie making skills. You guys will probably find this a surprising subject to be giving movie making tips on, but I believe this is important. Holiday movies.
With all your time taken up by movies, you may lose your interest in them. Not a good move. What you want to do is pace yourself. Work out what you wanna make a movie on and do little bits on each day. Some times I don't even do it at all. Also, to trigger the attention the attention of others, try to base the move loosely around something happening in the holiday. Like for this holiday, try to base it round the jubilee. Perhaps an epic drama of a secret organisation behind the queens mysterious disappearance before the jubilee. Maybe a life of the queen drama. Maybe a comedy on the jubilee from the queens pint of view. Just a few ideas.
Don't forget to have a good half term!!!!!! Comment to tell me what your doing, but I bet you don't get better than going to see...COLDPLAY

Acting episode 5: Miming.
In an amateur movie, the likely hood of having everything you need to act is quite low. If it comes to a moment in the scene where you need a weapon or something like that, you need to peretend you have one. This is actually fairly easy as long as you know what to do!
To mime, all you need to do is see what your holding or is around you and try to picture it in the situation your in. When you see that you have to try and co-ordinate yourself around it and finally attemt to involve it with the scene.
A few common mistake whilst miming is when you start using your fingers as the object such as sizzors or pistols. This looks a bit pathetic and unnatural so really when you hold things like that you need to hold you finger in the handel. Also, people quite often hold onto things with clenched fists. That doesnt work, as most things are not slim enough to hold with a clenched fist.
So, remember the process of miming, and keep in mind the obvious and most common mistakes, and generally it should look as authentic as the real thing.

acting episode 4: Drama
Acting, when it comes down to it, is all about telling the story in person. There's no point in having a lot of perfect action and improvisation, if ytou can't be serious about what it's all about.
Dramatic scenes are easily the hardest to film as it requires you to truely become part of the scene and be serious about your acting. If you start to smil when you talk about death or pause randomly in a hurried conversation, it will lose all the meaning to the scene and won't be taken seriously. Thats fine if your making a comedy, but in almost every other genre you'd begin to lose the story.
So the trick to taking drama seriously is imagining you in a similar situation. If you've ever, say, forgotten your homework or nearly got caught doing something you shouldn't, recall that moment of mass panic and stress use that emotion in the scene. If you think about you truly being there and not just being a character it will become easier and more believable.
So that's all for dramatic acting, stay tuned
